The Great Transformation. State and Communal Civil Service in Vienna, 1918–1920

The project will examine the proceedings of the Inter-Ministerial Committee and other bodies which dealt with the personnel, financial, administrative and political issues connected with the transformation of public administration between 1918 and 1920. The perspective of public servants themselves will be included in the analysis on the basis of the documents of a hearing conducted in 1919 and of articles from periodicals published by and for public employees.
